Sahil Muthuswami
After School Teacher
Sahil Muthuswami is a former Pincushion Hill Montessori student who is excited to return to the school community where his early love of learning began. After graduating from Pincushion around 2008, Sahil went on to study Biology and Health: Science, Society, and Policy at Brandeis University and will begin medical school this summer at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. His interests in science and medicine grew from the same curiosity sparked during his Montessori years, from growing beans on the windowsill to asking questions about how things work. Along the way, Sahil has mentored youth through YMCA programs, led Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) in Ashland, and volunteered with elementary students through the Kids Connection afterschool program in Waltham. He has also spent several years involved in medical research at institutions including the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Sahil is especially interested in pediatrics and looks forward to supporting Pincushion students and helping foster the same curiosity and sense of community that shaped his own early education.
