Welcome to Pincushion Hill Montessori School

On behalf of our entire community of faculty, parents, and children, thank you for your interest. This extraordinary Pincushion Hill Montessori school community is devoted to the joy and love of a Montessori education for each child. Pincushion was established in 1962 to serve, provide the best practice in Montessori education, and to encourage learning as a lifelong passion. During these many years, Pincushion grew and established a respected reputation in MetroWest.
We appreciate the depth and breadth of Pincushion’s global curriculum, the patient guidance of its Montessori teachers, and the spirit of mutual respect. Montessori education is a gentle way to learn that leads to a world-class education without the stress found in most schools. It is a creative place where young minds grow organically in an unhurried atmosphere of inquiry and discovery.
PHMS provides a challenging academic environment and opportunities for hands-on learning experiences in a diverse and nurturing environment. Children are encouraged to learn at their own pace while supported by their peers and teachers. Our children love school! They enjoy school because we focus on the potential of the individual child while encouraging independence.

Step 1 – Visit Pincushion Hill Montessori School

Schedule a tour. Tours are an extensive initial conversation between interested families and the admissions faculty. You’ll get the big picture of a Pincushion Montessori School education, and then we’ll visit the classrooms and explore our breathtaking gardens.

Montessori classes are quite different from traditionally structured classrooms, and we encourage parents who are interested in the school to spend some time observing.

Call the school at (508) 881-2123 or send us a message to schedule your tour. Tours are scheduled for 10am during the week.

Should I bring my child?

These first visits are for parents only to enable you to focus on the tour and embrace the classroom experience.

Step 2 – Your child visits Pincushion Hill Montessori School

After the initial parent tour, we will contact you to arrange for your child to come in to visit one of our classrooms. Applicants for the Early Childhood program (ages 2 years, 9 months through 6 years) will visit the classroom once. Applicants for the Elementary program (grades 1 through 6) will visit for a half or full day. After this visit, depending on availability, your child will be offered a space. If there is no availability, you may choose to have your child placed on our waiting list.

Step 3 – Complete the application form

After your child visits, you can begin the application process. Please complete our online application form. There is a non-refundable application fee of $75. If your child currently attends or has attended preschool or school, in addition to your application form, we will need a completed School Records Release form. Because school records are official documents, our office will mail your signed release form to your child’s present or former school.

Step 4 – Enrollment deposit

Your child’s enrollment is considered complete upon receipt of the application form with application fee, and the enrollment deposit.
We offer a sibling discount: 10% off the lesser tuition if you have two children attending Pincushion Hill Montessori School.
“Refer a Friend” discount: If you refer a friend and that family enrolls their child, you will receive a reduced tuition. The Pincushion Hill Montessori School is committed to serving the needs of all children and families, as well as supporting and celebrating diversity in the communities we serve. In its administration, rendering of services, and the employment of personnel, Pincushion Hill Montessori School does not discriminate on the basis of race, national or ethnic origin, age, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, spiritual beliefs, family configuration, disability, political affiliation, or any other status protected by applicable law.
