Welcome to Pincushion Hill Montessori School
On behalf of our entire community of faculty, parents, and children, thank you for your interest. This extraordinary Pincushion Hill Montessori school community is devoted to the joy and love of a Montessori education for each child. Pincushion was established in 1962 to serve, provide the best practice in Montessori education, and to encourage learning as a lifelong passion. During these many years, Pincushion grew and established a respected reputation in MetroWest.
We appreciate the depth and breadth of Pincushion’s global curriculum, the patient guidance of its Montessori teachers, and the spirit of mutual respect. Montessori education is a gentle way to learn that leads to a world-class education without the stress found in most schools. It is a creative place where young minds grow organically in an unhurried atmosphere of inquiry and discovery.
PHMS provides a challenging academic environment and opportunities for hands-on learning experiences in a diverse and nurturing environment. Children are encouraged to learn at their own pace while supported by their peers and teachers. Our children love school! They enjoy school because we focus on the potential of the individual child while encouraging independence.

Rolling Admissions Process
We follow a rolling admissions process and applicants are welcome to complete admission steps at any time during the year. Our admissions process is a reflective and supportive collaboration.

Step 1 – Visit Pincushion Hill Montessori School
Montessori classes are quite different from traditionally structured classrooms, and we encourage parents who are interested in the school to spend some time observing.
If you cannot attend an Open House, we invite you to schedule a tour on another school day, typically in the morning, to learn about our programs and visit our classrooms. Call the school at (508) 881-2123 or send us a message to schedule your tour.
Should I bring my child?
These first visits are for parents only to enable you to focus on the tour and embrace the classroom experience.
Step 2 – Complete the application form
Step 3 – Your child visits Pincushion Hill Montessori School
As soon as we receive your application with the application fee, we will contact you to arrange for your child to come in to visit one of our classrooms. Applicants for the Early Childhood program (ages 2 years, 9 months through 6 years) will visit the classroom one or more times. Applicants for the Elementary program (grades 1 through 6) will visit at least a day or more. After this visit, depending on availability, your child will be offered a space. If there is no availability, you may choose to have your child placed on our waiting list.
Step 4 – Enrollment deposit
Our Ambassador Parents have offered to speak with families who would like the broader perspective of families with Pincushion Hill students. Their contact information is available to you upon request!
