[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Summer Discovery Program at PHMS is designed to give children new and exciting experiences while being active and having fun! The Pincushion Hill Summer Program provides children with exciting learning opportunities in an active and stimulating environment. The skills they have learned throughout the school year are reinforced through challenging and engaging activities. Pincushion’s Discovery Summer Program is a dynamic, hands-on program designed for children entering preschool through grade five. Our program provides students with a nurturing atmosphere that encourages exploration, creativity, and lasting connections among the children.

Weekly sessions begin June 17, 2019 and run through August 16, 2019. Summer Hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.  Whether joining us for part of the summer or for the entire 9 week program of exploration all children are sure to enjoy learning, playing, and creating in our indoor and outdoor classrooms.

Children will be spending beautiful summer mornings in our thriving vegetable and flower gardens where they will be observing and learning about the planting, growth, care, and harvesting of our diverse variety of fruits and vegetables. Summer students will have special classes in dance, cooking, music, games, and science. With a different theme every week, we learn more about our world and continue our education.

A weekly local Ashland community service person will come in to speak about their professions – Police, firefighter, mail carrier, dentist, DPW, general health, librarian, board of health, ice cream truck driver.

To further enhance our diverse curriculum, the summer program staff would like to send an invitation to all parents to come in and give short presentations to our children. Parent volunteers are welcome to read stories, give cultural presentations, share stories and pictures about travel, work, and life experiences. If you would like to sign up as a parent volunteer or have any questions in regard to the summer program, please contact the office at 508-881-2123.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
