Philosophy Of Montessori Education

We both went to Montessori school, and I think it was part of that training of not following rules and orders, being self-motivated, questioning what’s going on in the world, and doing things a little bit differently, that contributed to our success.

- Larry Page & Sergi Brin, Co-founders of Google.com

We invite you to gain a deeper understanding of Dr. Montessori and the methods that have come from her work. Below are some important highlights.

  • A Montessori environment speaks to the heart of the child.
  • Engaged exploration using all of our senses is critical to optimal learning.
  • Montessori classrooms create a sense in children of becoming more self-reliant.
  • Third year students assume responsibility for the well-being of their group.
  • Self-mastery is a need of the young child.
  • Free choice allows the child to select meaningful work.
  • A child’s hands working with the Montessori materials helps the child’s brain grow in powerful ways.
